{"id":3813,"date":"2026-10-09T19:31:59","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T23:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pugliabu1927.live-website.com\/?p=179"},"modified":"2026-10-11T11:43:17","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T15:43:17","slug":"italian-cooking-lessons-in-otranto-de-corigliano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pugliaperfectvacations.com\/de\/italian-cooking-lessons-in-otranto-de-corigliano\/","title":{"rendered":"Italienische Kochkurse in Otranto de Corigliano"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong><em>We had no idea what to expect&#8230;but it sounded like an adventure..<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-28515\" src=\"https:\/\/cusskitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/apertivo-scaled-e1716455352517-308x360.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"308\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We pulled into a beautiful back yard and were warmly greeted by Antonio, and Enza- and their students\/guests.\u00a0 It immediately felt like more of a party than a lesson- and that impression continued as our hosts rolled out a feast of local delicacies- and an Appertivo by the pool.\u00a0 We enjoyed getting to know our hosts, and all of the International guests who hailed from Poland, the Netherlands, Italy and two areas of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Language- No Issue<\/p>\n<p>Education- Very good- and recipes followed us home<\/p>\n<p>Food- Varied, Delicious and fresh- many samples from the garden<\/p>\n<p>Wine- A great mix of local wines<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ok it wasn&#8217;t ALL party- We got to work.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Italian Cooking lessons in Corlignano d Otranto<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-28517\" src=\"https:\/\/cusskitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/pasta3-1024x461.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Together, with Enza and Antonio we learned to make homemade Orecchiette and Macaroni, with simple ingredients.\u00a0 \u00a0We mixed the dough, kneaded, and practiced making the famous Orecchiette shaped pasta.\u00a0 Not easy- it takes practice\u00a0 (My husband was nominated for the Ugliest Orecchiette award- which was presented to uproarious laughter)\u00a0 He relished every moment.<\/p>\n<p>Orecchiette pasta\u00a0<b>originates from Puglia during the 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0centuries<\/b>\u00a0and remains popular throughout Italy to this day. The word &#8216;orecchiette&#8217; means &#8216;little ears&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28514\" src=\"https:\/\/cusskitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/pasta-1-851x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"595\" height=\"716\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We made Macaroni as well, and then we were able to taste the results<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A table full of dishes linked to their ancient family tradition, with garden vegetables, local cheeses, hand made orecchiette with fresh tomato and basil, and fresh Macaroni with mussels. All courses were accompanied by a tasting of fine &#8220;Salento wines.&#8221; We finished the evening with\u00a0 Authentic jam tart and Pasticciotto, and homemade Limoncello.\u00a0 \u00a0There was a some musical stylings as well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Volare sing along. The hands-on pasta making itself takes about 90 minutes \u2014 mixing, kneading, and practicing the orecchiette drag-and-cup technique until your &#8220;little ears&#8221; or maccheroni look respectable. Then you sit down together to eat the results, which is the other half of the experience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Do I need experience, and are classes taught in English?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>No experience needed \u2014 most guests have never made pasta before, and the hosts expect lopsided first attempts (it&#8217;s part of the fun).
